District Benchmarking Results
Waikato University has worked in conjunction with Squash New Zealand to develop, reasearch and compare vital statistics from Districts around the country in a Benchmarking exercise designed to identify 'best practice' and also offer comparative management data that can be used in planning and developing our game at 'grass roots' level;
the Benchmarking tool includes details such as:
- Population
- Player numbers
- Gender split
- Age ranges of players
- Court numbers
- Club numbers
- Gradings
- Coach numbers
- Referee numbers
Financial spending on areas such as:
- Development
- Competition
- High Performance
- Administration
- Employed resources
This data was placed into a ratio format to allow Districts to be compared 'apples to apples' despite size, geographic challenges etc.
The benchmarking exercise produces graphs that allow Districts to compare, identify issues that need addressing, pin point best practice operations (in some instances) and share ideas across Districts in a drive take our sport forward.
The benchmarking exercise is carried out annually to enable trend analysis across Districts and understand changes that are happening, why, when and what has the greatest impact.
I encourage everyone to view these files, draw your conclusions and become actively involved in your District to improve the way we operate. |
