Six Kiwis Titles at Oceanias

Six New Zealand players have taken out titles at the Oceania Junior Championships on the Gold Coast this week.

New Zealand celebrations started in the under 11 age group round robin draws; which were won by Leo Fatialofa and Ariata Kutia.  This was quickly followed up by a win in the under 13 girls round robin division for Kaitlyn Watts, who impressively did not drop a set throughout the tournament.

Corbin Faint picked up the under 15 boys' title when compatriot Matthew Lucente was forced to withdraw from the final with injury.  Nadia Hubbard made it an under 15 double by beating Australian top seed Vanessa Graham 11-9 11-7 7-11 11-4 to win the girls' title in that age group.

The Kiwi titleists were rounded out by Max Trimble, who beat Australia’s Solayman Nowrozi 14-12 11-6 1-11 11-3 to secure the boys' under 17 title.
