Choice of Ball Policy
13 Feb 2014An update to the choice of ball policy following the introduction of the Combined Grading List.
All squash players should be aware of the following update to Squash New Zealand's choice of ball policy:
- B2 (and above) graded players shall use a double yellow dot Dunlop squash ball. C1 (and below) players shall use a single yellow dot Dunlop squash ball.
- Where a B2 graded (or higher) player and a C1 (or lower) graded player meet in competition play (including where a man plays a woman), the player with the highest grading points shall have the choice of which ball is used.
What has changed? The policy has been slightly reworded to give the player with the higher grading points (rather than grade) the choice of ball where a B2 (or higher) plays a C1 (or lower). This reflects the fact that men and women are now able to play each other without the woman needing a men's grading code.
