Strong start to Malaysia doubles event

The New Zealanders have had some positive results on the first day of a doubles event in Malaysia this week.  The event - called the Tri Nations Squash Doubles - involves New Zealand, Malaysia and India, and is designed as preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next month.2010 Comm Games Doubles Shot

New Zealand has sent its eight strong Commonwealth Games team to the event, along with coaches Paul Hornsby and Dave Clarke.

There are two more days of competition, before the players disperse around the world to their various training bases.  They will not all be assembled again until just before the Commonwealth Games.  There will be more pool matches tomorrow, with playoffs to follow.  The New Zealand teams are very hopeful of featuring in the finals.
