Commonwealth Games squash broadcast schedule
23 Jul 2014The Glasgow Commonwealth Games opening ceremony will be broadcast live tomorrow at 8am NZT, with first round squash matches to begin in the early hours of Friday morning NZT.
The men's Round of 64 gets affairs underway, with Martin Knight the first Kiwi in action. His opening match, at 1pm on Thursday local time (midnight Thursday night NZT), is against Gihan Suwaris or Sri Lanka. Paul Coll will face Issa Kamara (Sierra Leone), while twelfth seed Campbell Grayson will face a qualifer in the opening round.
All three of the New Zealand women involved in the singles - Joelle King, Megan Craig and Amanda Landers-Murphy - have Round of 32 matches scheduled at 3.30am Friday morning NZT. Third seeded King opens her campaign against a qualifier. Megan Craig - the competition's 16th seed - plays Kenyan Safina Madhani in the first round, while Amanda Landers-Murphy opens her campaign against WR#14 Jenny Duncalf.
Sky Sport's scheduling currently indicates that delayed squash coverage of men's singles will be broadcast at 1am and 3am NZ time, with live coverage of women's singles from 4.30am-6.30am.
