World Junior Championships draw released

The draws for the upcoming World Junior Championships in Windhoek, Namibia have been released.

The 2014 World Junior Championships feature individual Championships from 10-15 August, followed by the World Junior Men's Team Championships from 16-21 August.  

The team to represent New Zealand at the Championships was named in June following four selection events:

  • Scott Galloway (Mitchell Park)
  • Luke Jones (SquashGym Palmerston North)
  • Max Trimble (Whangarei)
  • Chapman Kutia (Gisborne High School Old Boys)

The team will be coached by Squash NZ High Performance Coach Paul Hornsby.  Sion Wiggin (North Shore) NZ team at TTJwas named as the non-travelling reserve.

The draw will see two New Zealanders undergo a Spanish inquisition in the first round.  Chapman Kutia will play Bernat Jaume, while Luke Jones will face off against Iker Pajares Bernabeu.  Scott Galloway will square off against Nigerian Peter Kalu Chidi, and Max Trimble will also play someone from the African continent, up against Wayne Sithole of South Africa.

The draw and seedings for the teams event will be finalised by the completion of the individual event.
