Champs of Champs Crowned at Tawa

The 2014 'Champions of Champions' have been crowned at Tawa Squash Club in Wellington today, and it is a big congratulations to the twelve players who won bragging rights as the national champions in their grade.

The event featured players who had won their District Finals (based on grades as at 15 July), battling it out for the ultimate honour - being named the best player in their grade in all of New Zealand.

The titles were shared relatively evenly among Districts, with Bay of Plenty particularly excelling by picking up four of the titles.

The women's D and C Grade finals were particularly close, with lengthy five setters played before the top seeds were eventually able to exert their dominance.  It was a similar story in the B Grade men's, with Gary Aukett eventually prevailing over Rafa Yam by a slim margin.
