Kiwi squash players aim for World Record

Two New Zealand squash players are aiming to beak the Guinness World Record for the longest squash match played

The record, currently held by a pair of Australians, stands at 32 hours and 7 minutes.  Adam Fisher and Darren Yates are aiming to crush the existing record by playing for 35 hours nonstop.Famous

Fisher and Yates originate from the Wairarapa, and have played the majority of their squash in the Central Districts area.  Yates now lives in Perth, and has set up the 'Kids of Mustang' charity (raising money for improverished children in Nepal).  The world record attempt will raise money for this charity.

Yates has whistled his longtime friend and sparring partner Fisher over for the challenge, which will take place in Perth in March 2015.  The two have been friends and squash buddies for many years - let's hope the friendship stays strong throughout 35 straight hours of squash!
