23 Dec 2014Squash NZ are seeking candidates for the roles of Coaching & Development Director and Squash Director.
Coaching and Development Director
The main purpose of the role is to lead Squash NZ's Development and Coaching Programme including:
- The management and promotion of the Kiwi Squash and SquashStart programmes
- The development of marketing resources to support these programmes
- The development and implementation of the national coaching framework
- Training and development of coaches and regional coach facilitators
- The management of the national CoachForce programme
- Increasing participation in squash
- Communication from the National Office and key stakeholder relationships
Experience required
- Two years relevant experience in a leadership role
- Proven experience in the management of programmes or projects
- Proven experience of working with the volunteer sector
- Computer literacy with MS office, email and CRM systems
- Financial and budgetary knowledge and understanding of associated principles
The position is initially for a one-year maternity cover.

Squash Director
The Squash Director will be responsible for:
- The oversight and development of a national events and competition strategy.
- The co-ordination of national events in line with the national events strategy. The Squash Director will be the first point of contact for all national events, ensure event rules and guidelines are maintained and ensure the events are well managed.
- The oversight and development of a long term and sustainable refereeing strategy in conjunction with the referees programme director.
- The oversight development of a masters squash strategy and coordination of programme activities in conjunction with the master’s programme director.
- The oversight and development of a grading strategy and the coordination of programme activities.
- The oversight and development of an IT strategy that will best deliver products and services to the members of Squash New Zealand. Familiarity with IT systems and the maintenance of the website are key elements of the role.
- The establishment and coordination of advisory groups to assist with the implementation of projects or activities as they arise.
- Special Project planning and implementation as required. Includes the planning, marketing and implementation of projects such as a National Squash Day, Have a Go Day and other promotional campaigns.
- Increasing the SNZ brand awareness nationwide.
- Oversight and development of a Squash New Zealand Media strategy.
