The qualifying matches are over and the Main Draws are set for the 2015 Invercargill Licensing Trust Southern Open.

The first round of qualifying in the men's draw went to plan with all of the seeded players managing to make it through safely. The second round however was always going to prove to be a little more intersting. Christopher Binnie of Jamaica managed to beat out Muhammad Hannan in 4. It was then Kiwi Chris Van der Salm who managed to take a win out over his Finnish competitor in a very tight 4 sets. Evan Williams added to the Kiwis heading into the main draw taking a hard fought win over Mark Fuller of England in 4. Finally Kashif Shuja's experience saw him take a 3 set win over Addeen Idraikie of Malaysia and made the final total of kiwis in the main draw 8.

The qualifying round of the Women's draw saw local juniors Katie Fairweather and Emily Flett getting their first chance to experience international squash, however both players were not able to match the intensity of their Korean opponents giong down in 3. Danielle Fourie also managed to beat out fellow kiwi and friend Vanessa Larsen in 3.

With the main draws now set it is anyone's game to take out these titles as well as the coveted South Island Championship titles. In the men's draw Campbell Grayson has now taken the top seeding as Leo Au of Hong Kong ahs had to withdraw due to illness. This will see Kashif Shuja having to play Matias Tuomi the lucky loser of the qualifying round first up. There are also two kiwi pairings tonight with Paul Coll and Evan Williams having to battle it out as well as Martin Knight and Chris Van Der Salm. Lance Beddoes will also be on tonight playing Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu of India and Campbell Grayson playing Matthew Hopkins of Australia. The games are set to go either way.

In the women's draw we see four kiwi names appearing. Danielle Fourie will have to face first seed Siyoli Waters of South Africa. After Waters tight loss last week to Megan Craig at the Doubledot Media PSA you can be certain she won't want to do it again. Megan Craig has the fourth seed and fellow teammate Amanda Landers-Murphy has the third seed. With both girls being knocked out in the Semi-Finals of the Fitzherbert Rowe PSA they will be sure to want to go one better this time. Finally the youngest kiwi in the Main Draw is Abbie Palmer who will get to play Misaki Kobayashi of Japan first up. Kobayashi made it to the finals in Palmerston North so will show no mercy to the younger player.
