The Semi-Finalists of the Senior Nationals at Christchurch Football and Squash Club have been decided. It is set to be Grayson vs Williams and Knight vs Coll in the Mens Open and

The Men's Quarter finals saw some excellent squash being played which can only mean there will be some more exciting games to be had in the Semo-Finals. The first match up was Lance Beddoes against Evan Williams. Both players came onto court and were ready for everything to be left there. Williams managed to take the first game with some nice flair and great shots. The second gamed looked like it was going to be over before it started with Williams storming out to a 9-1 lead however Beddoes dug deep and played some spectacular shots which Williams was not able to retrieve, Beddoes managed to level the score at 10-10 and eventually won the game 13-11. It seemed in the third as if the tides may have changed with Beddoes claiming the third, but before anyone got ahead of themselves Williams came out in the fourth to level the game scores. Beddoes and Williams went point for point in the fifth but at 6-4 a no let call seemed to be the turning point for the game and Williams got the edge and the match.

Campbell Grayson and Chris Lloyd had a relatively straight forward match with Grayson showing superiorshot selection and retrieval over Lloyd, Grayson taking the match in 3. Paul Coll also had a win in 3 against Ben Grindrod with Coll looking strong and marching into the Semi-Finals.

Martin Knight and Chris Van Der Salm had a tough battle with some long rallies and some superior retrieving coming from both players. The first 2 games were close fought but they managed to go in Knight's favour. Van Der Salm managed to claim a convincing win in the third where he couldn't seem to do anything wrong. The long fought fourth seemed as if it could go anyway and Van Der Salm managed to pick up some amazing shots but it wasn't enough and Knight progresses to the Semi-Finals.

The Women's Quarter-Finals were relatively straight forward with the top 4 seeds showing strength in not only their shot selection but their retrieval of the ball. Joelle King beat Jo Shanks in 3 with King showing good form moving into her semi-final. Shelley Kitchen's first nationals back since 2010 showed that she was ready to fight it out on court and she proved to strong for her younger opponent Ellie Epke. Megan Craig and Amanda Landers-Murphy dispatched of Emma Millar and Danielle Fourie.Amanda Landers-Murphy managed to clinch an 11-0 win in the second game.
