Epke Claims Silver at Youth Commonwealth Gamescyg2015_LOGO1

Ellie Epke has claimed a Silver Medal at the Youth Commonwealth Games Women's Squash Singles.

The second seeded Kiwi was unable to upset title favourite Sivasangari Subramanium in the final, going down 11-3, 11-5, 12-10 to the Malaysian top seed. With temperatures averaging 30 degrees it was going to be a tough battle for the kiwi.

Earlier, Epke earned her place in the title decider with a straight games win over Pakistan's Sadia Gul.

The Women's doubles also kicked off to a good start with Abbie Palmer and Ellie Epke (seeded first) taking down Australians Alexandra Haydon & Lauren Aspinall 11/1, 11/1. 

More Mixed Doubles and Women's Doubles games are to be played in the coming days.
