Doubles Going Strong at CYGcyg2015_LOGO1

New Zealand's Double campaign at the Youth Commonwealth games has started off strongly with the Women's Doubles set to compete for the gold medal.

Abbie Palmer and Ellie Epke have proved to be a difficult pair to compete with in the Women's doubles, with both these players showing their opponents their strength on court. After a strong win on the first day against Australia the two girls carried on strong into the next day and took wins both over Guyana and Norfolk Island. With the girls showing their strength on court they now face the number 2 seeds Andrea Lee & Zoe Foo Yuk Han from Malaysia in the final.

In the mixed doubles Abbie Palmer has showed her strength on court with Luke Jones with the pair taking the win over Australia on the first day. Their second game against England was going to be a tougher battle with England seeded second, however everything ended up going New Zealand's way as they took the win over England. The Mixed doubles face the top seeded Malaysian pair of Andrea Lee & Eain Yow Ng this morning to try to make their way into the final and to bring another medal home to New Zealand.

Good luck team!
