Day 2 of SuperChamps 2014 SuperChamps resized

It could be anyones title across the country as teams are slowly starting to show their strength and the number of games they have played beging to take its toll on their bodies.

At the B Grades the Mens Draw has seen some interesting turns over the past 24hours. Pool A has seen both Remuera and Royal Oak taking 5-0 wins over Surf City and Devoy respectively. Remuera took a 5-0 win over Eden Epsom later in the day whilst Devoy snuck a 3-2 win over Surf City. Pool B saw SquashGym continue their winning streak beating Otago uni 5-0 whilst Marlborough took out Tawa 4-1. Cambridge played Tawa in the third round and took the win 4-1. Squash Gym and Marlborough also faced each other in the third round and with neither team having lost a tie yet this was a crucial match for both teams, but the match eventually went SquashGyms way and they took the win 3-2. Both the mens Pools seem open for anyone to take any position.

In the B Grades Womens Draws Pool A saw Te Puke continue their winning streak beating Hamilton 3-2 with Te Puke having yet to drop a tie.Devoy got onto the board having a 3-2 win over Otgao Uni. Te Puke secured their place in the final beating Devoy 4-1 and they will look to try and reclaim the title they last won in 2012. Whangarei also managed to gain a win over Otago Uni 4-1. Pool B saw Royal Oak and Remuera both took down Kawaroa Park (4-1) and Oamaru (3-2) respectively. Royal Oak then proceeded to take down Remuera 4-1 whilst Hastings continue to scratch up wins with a 5-0 win over Kawaroa Park.

At the C Grades the Womens Draw Pool B saw Devoy Squash take a 5-0 win over Edgecumbe whilst Kaitaia beat Manurewa 3-2. Edgecumbe came back in the afternoon to defeat Taumarunui 3-2 whilst Kaitaia kept taking the narrowest of wins beating Devoy 3-2. Pool A of the womens saw Hamilton take a 3-2 win over Kawaroa Park whilst the the 2 Hawkes Bay ladies teams battled it out with Hawkes Bay Squash Rackets Club taking the win 3-2. Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis took a tight win later in the day over Kawaroa Park 3-2 with Hawke's Bay Squash Rackets Club also taking a win 3-2 over Upper Hutt.

In the C Grade Mens Draws Pool B saw Wanaganui take a convincing win 4-1 over Mangakahia whilst North Shore won 5-0 against Christchurch. Wanaganui and North Shore faced each other later that day and Wanganui took the glory home winning 3-2 in a tight battle. Mangakahia came back from their loss earlier in the day and beat Matamata 3-2. Pool A saw Havelock north beat Remuera 4-1 whilst Island Bay won 4-1 over Geyser City. Hika Squash Club got themselves on the board beating Havelock North 3-2 and Geyser City took a 5-0 win over Remuera Rackets Club.

In Cromwell the D Grades has proved great for the club with people struggling to get in to watch the games. In the Mens Pool A Devoy beat Marlborough 5-0 first up in the morning whilst Henderson took out Alexandra 5-0 as well. Devoy then took a tight win over Henderson 3-2 later that day whilst Ohakune took a 4-1 win over Marlborough. In pool B Havelock North beat Red Star 4-1 while Cromwell won 5-0 over Whangarei and the home town heroes keep on storming towards the final. Later that Day Cromwell took another win over Red Star 4-1 and Hamilton beat Whangarei 5-0.

In the D Grade ladies draws Pool A saw Geyser beat Taihape 5-0 and Hawke's Bay Lawn and Tennis beat Red Star 5-0 as well. Later that day Red Star took a tight win over Taihape 3-2 and Geyser took out Gore 5-0. In Pool B Ngaruawahia continue to show their strength with a 5-0 win over Timaru whilst the Cromwell girls continue to keep up to speed with the men winning 5-0 over Christchurch. Cromwell contniued their winning streak beating Panmure 3-2 and Timaru scratched up a win over Christchurch 5-0.

E Grade results to come.

In the F/J Grades the first day of games proved exciting with the womens draw having some tight matches and Hawke's Bay edging out Ohakune 3-2. Kamo also took a win 4-1 over Hunterville. In the Men's Draws Devoy and Brown's Bay had a tough first round and introduction to superchamps for many of these young players. Browns Bay edged the win 3-2 over Devoy. Ohakune beat neighbours Taihape 3-2 whilst Hawke's Bay Squash Racquets Club beat Devoy 3-2 leaving this to be anyones game.
