After a big day of Semi-Final games with some close calls, the finalists for the 2015 NZ Junior Age Group Championships have been decided

There were 2 matches left in the Under 19 Girls for the Quarter finals. First up was Kaitlyn Watts and Camden Te Kani McQueen. After a tight first game, Watts came on firing and managed to take the match in 3. Juee Bhide played Nikki Kennedy, after a strong first game from Bhide she dropped the second game in a hard fought set, however she came out firing in the third and the fourth and took the match in 4.

In the Boys Under 19 Luke Jones made quick work of Jayden Millard winning in a straightforward 3. Alex Revington got off to a tough first game going down in a tight first game, he managed to come out and win the second relatively straightforward. They then battled the third out with a long 20/18 game falling Revingtons way, then Revington came out and took the match in 4. Jamie Oakley took a convincing win over Michael Shelton Agar in 3. Scott Galloway had a tough match against Max Trimble, Trimble claimed the first game but this fired up Galloway and he came away with the match in 4.

In the Boys Under 19 semi-finals saw Scott Galloway the second seed needing to defeat up and coming Jamie Oakley. Oakley has had some strong wins this season and was looking to make this another one. Oakley came out firing and wouldn't let Galloway get into the match. Galloway tried his best but Oakley played some superb shots and claimed the match in a convincing 3. Alex Revington was going to have to find something strong after a tough quarter final match to beat reigning champion Luke Jones. Jones however wants his name on this title for a second time and he took the match in 3 never letting Revington in with a chance.

The Girls Under 17 saw two upsets in the Quarter Finals, Mackenzie Johnson (5th seed) beat Courtney Trail (4th seed) in 3. 6th seed Rhiarne Taiapa also beat 3rd seed Ruby Turnbull in 3. Zoe Dykzeul and Anna Hughes also made their way through to the semi-finals. Dykzeul and Hughes continued to show their strength in the semi-finals both winning in 3 and securing their place in the final.

The Girls Under 15 Semi-Finals saw top seed Anika Jackson beat 5th seed Annaleise Faint in 3 whilst 2nd seed Winona Jo Joyce had a slightly tougher battle winning in 4 over 3rd seed Annmarie Holst. Top seed Anika Jackson will play 2nd seed Winona Jo Joyce.

The Girls Under 13 Semi-Finals saw Ariata Kutia beat Natalie Sayes in a hard fought 5 setter, whilst Ruby Saies had a convincing win over Dilessia Henare in 3. Kutia and Saies will compete for the title in the final.

The Girls Under 11 saw Jade Stratford and Sophie Hodges beat their lower seeded opponents in3. The final round of pool play is tomorrow.

The Boys Under 17 5th seed Corbin Faint take out 4th seeds Sean Dykes in what was a tough 3 setter. The match of the Quarter Finals was between 7th seed Lwamba Chileshe and 2nd seed Finn Trimble. Chileshe came out firing in the first and never looked back eventually taking the win in what was an exciting 3 setter.

In the Boys Under 17 finals 2nd seed Quinn Udy couldn't seem to find his rhythm in the first game losing to Lwamba Chileshe, however Udy came back in the second and played strong and structured squash resulting in Chileshe needing to take everything behind him and ultimately going down in 4. Corbin Faint and Matthew Lucente were both firing in their game with some very long rallies. Both players threw all they could in to the match but it ended up being Lucentes day and he secured himself a place in the final against Udy.

The Boys Under 15 went to plan up to the semi-finals for all of the top seeds. 2nd seed Glenn Templeton took a hard fought win in 4 over 3rd seed Willz Donnelly who had been pushed hard in his quarter final. The match for this semi-final was between 4th seed Kobe Fleming and top seed Logan Webber. Both players threw some amazing shots into the game and retrieved excellent shots, but today it was Flemings day where he took his spot in the final.

The Boys Under 13 saw the top seeds Leo Fatialofa and Elijah Thomas defeat Mason Smales and Joe Smythe respectively in 3 and make their way into the final.

The top 3 in the Under 11 Boys pool has seen Noah Thomas and Apa Fatialofa both claim a match so far leaving anything open for tomorrows match between Apa Fatialofa and Tom Marshall.
