Kiwis in US Junior Open

14 of New Zealand's top junior players are competing in the American Junior Open and a number of them are off to a great start in the main draw.USSquashJuniorOpenLogoNoYearWEB-150x150

In the Boys Under 11 event Apa Fatialofa (13-16 seed) has made it through to the round of 16 after comfortably winning his first two matches; whilst Freddie Jameson (33-48 seed) made it through to the round of 32 but was unable to progress losing in a closer four setter.

In the Boys Under 13 event Leo Fatialofa (25-32 seed) is into the quarter finals following three tough wins including a tense five setter.

In the Boys Under 17 event Fin Trimble (49-64 seed) made it into the round of 64 but was unable to match his Canadian counterpart. Lwamba Chileshe (65-96 seed) also found it tough losing in his first round match.

In the Boys Under 19 event Jamie Oakley (17-24 seed) is into the round of 32 with some strong wins so far. Unfortunately, the other kiwis Jayden Millard (65-96 seed), Tyler Ranger (65-96 seed), Alex Revington (65-96), Michael Shelton-Agar (65-96 seed) and Stuart Martin (97-128 seed) were unable to match their first round counterparts in a number of tough contests.

In the Girls Under 15 event Kaitlyn Watts (3 seed), fresh off her Junior Canadian Open win, has stormed into the round of 16 after starting with a first round bye and winning her first two matches. Meanwhile Anika Jackson (25-32 seed) is also through to the top 16 after with some strong wins.

In the Girls Under 17 event Courtney Trail (49-64 seed) has qualified for the round of 32 with some good performances.
