Squash New Zealand Contracts HP Programme Managers 

Squash New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of 2 contracted High Performance Programme Managers, Shelley Kitchen and Kashif Shuja. 

Shelley and Kashif will be well known to the Squash community both having represented New Zealand a number of times overseas and being heavily involved in the development of many of our players. 

Shelley will be most well known for achieving a career high World Ranking of 6 alongside two Commonwelath Games medals (Silver and Bronze) in Melbourne in 2006. Shelley was also appointed the World Womens Team Manager for the 2016 campaign to happen later this year. "It is a privilege for me to be appointed HP Manager of Squash New Zealand. Squash New Zealand has given me so much over the years, and played a critical role in my success as a professional player. I am excited to contribute to the energetic team at Squash NZ, with a clear goal of continuing our success on the world stage" said Kitchen. 

Kashif has secured five NZ Senior National titles along with a number of PSA titles throughout his time on the Professional Circuit. Kashif was appointed as the 2015 World Mens Team Manager. Shuja said "There are a lot of things I could've done better in my 20 years of professional squash. To be able to help young athletes with my experience is something that has turned into a passion for me. Squash in New Zealand is doing very well and I'm sure we can take our top players to the next level with the team we have in place on all fronts. It's a pleasure to be working with the setup Squash NZ has got now. I thank them for the opportunity and look forward to the year with much excitement".

Shelley and Kashif will provide leadership and support to create an environment for achieving podium results from our elite players (National Squad) whilst developing and maximising player performances on their pathway to representing New Zealand at World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
