Whangarei Squash Clubs seeks Manager

The Whangarei Squash Club is seeking an out-going and self-managed person to be the face of the club.Whangarei Squash Club

The primary purpose of the role is to manage many elements of membership services including:

  • Maintain the existing membership, be the first point of contact, and address member's issues and concerns.

  • Receive inquiries from prospective members through to signing them up and induction to the club.

  • Co-ordinate regular club activities such as league nights and juniors.

  • Assist with tournaments and other club activities.

  • Manage communication with members.

The Club Manager will also be responsible for administrative functions including:

  • Routine club operations and administration.

  • Interface with Squash Northland and Squash New Zealand

  • External correspondence and other communications.

The final structure and responsibilities of the position are flexible and dependent on the abilities and experience of the successful applicant, and the flexibility of time available to carry out their responsibilities.

Personal attributes and abilities important to the role are:

  • An out-going and friendly personality.

  • Self-managed and self-motivated to do a fantastic job and exceed member expectations.

  • IT skills particularly Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication skills.

It is anticipated the position will require 8 to 10 hours per week spread over 2 to 5 days and ideally in the afternoon around 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.  Additional hours could be required dependent on the ability of the manager to generate value for the club.

An interest in squash is an advantage but not a requirement for the role.
