Club Kelburn are looking for someone who wants to make a long term commitment to Club Kelburn. Someone who wants to learn every aspect of running a modern fitness club, and work alongside the manager, learning to do all the admin, marketing and management tasks that make this club successful.

About 35 hours a week rostered plus filling in for shifts. Probably 40 hours plus on average.

Potential to move into Assistant Manager.

We are open 90 hours a week, so the job includes some early shifts, late shifts, split shifts and some weekend work.

Once up to speed, you will be given more responsibility, with the goal to be Assistant Manager.

This is a busy club with 8 gym rooms, 8 squash courts, 4 physios, pro shop, and more. Situated right next to the university we have a large base of students, and a lot of business people from the CBD.

We have carved out a great niche in todays health and fitness market, and want to continue to change to always be relevant to a changing market.

The club has been around since the 1960s, but in the last 20 odd years has changed to meet the fitness market, and we pride ourselves on keeping up with the play with whats happening in the fitness and health market, and we use technology well in many areas of the business. This would need to be a strength of the successful candidate, as would general computer skills.

The ideal candidate will probably be starting their career, and very keen on fitness, marketing and customer service. A squash player would be great, but at the least have been a regular gym member, with sales/ customer service background.

The most important thing is to be a people person, have a big smile on your face, and give our clients a great experience every day! We aim to be the best part of our members day!

Benefits include full use of the club, physio, and free parking.
