Having played an amazing 28 years of A-grade squash, the squash community will mourn the loss of this great player.

Gerald joined Eden Epsom in 1962 and won the squash club championship five times between 1963 and 1967. Moss was ranked 7th in New Zealand in 1967 and 1968. In 1986 he came third in the Masters Open championships against Australia. Moss was also a national senior squash coach and a national referee. Gerald was also a very good Tennis player with a number of national achievements.

Reflecting upon some of his achievements the following people had this to say about Gerald. Doug Flint said "He was a unique racquet player, incredibly talented at both tennis and squash, strong on court and always hard to beat". Graham Johns said "Gerald was a fleet footed natural athlete" and Kevin Strahan "When I arrived at Eden Epsom Gerald Moss was a big part of the life and soul of the place"
