Squash Auckland seek General Manager

Squash Auckland is looking for a capable person who can continue to grow squash in the Auckland region. General Manager Philip Vodanovich has given notice of his resignation effective Friday 6th May to take up a corporate role. Philip leaves Squash Auckland in great shape with excellent membership figures and programmes as well as club, trust funding and sponsor support.

Reporting to the Board, the General Manager is responsible for leading a small team of staff and volunteers to ensure the strategic vision is delivered. The position requires the following attributes:

  • Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills
  • Self-motivation and self-management
  • Experience and exposure to the sports & recreation sector
  • Computer skills, including presentation preparation
  • Financial skills, including budget development and management
  • Sponsorship and funding experience
  • Relationship building with clubs, Squash NZ and other stakeholders
  • Ability to develop initiatives to take the sport ‘to the people’ and to motivate clubs to increase membership.
  • Manage and maintain relationships across the sports sector
