Some of the best junior players in the South Island will be competing for the glory of taking the South Island Junior Age Group Titles this weekend at Squash City Invercargill.

In the Under 19 boys Jayden Millard is the top seed and will have to battle off stiff competition from Southlanders Mitchell Kempton and Regan McNaught as well as local club mate Charlie Barker. In the Girls Under 19 Lauren Crowhurst from Auckland will be looking to bring the title back to the North Island and she is due to face fellow North Islander Winona-Jo Joyce in the final. There will be a number of South Islanders looking to fend these two players off on their way to the title.

The boys Under 17 will see Dominic Wren seeded to take the title, however he will be battling to make sure that Glenn Templeton does not take the title back to the Bay of Plenty should seedings go to plan. Winona-Jo Joyce is set to take the Under 17 Girls title with battles against local Southlanders.

Glenn Templeton is set to take the Under 15 Boys title whilst Anna O’Connor is set to take the Girls title. O’Connor will face tough competition from North Island player Natalie Sayes who is seeded second in the Girls Under 15 and she is also top seed in the Under 13’s. Sayes will be looking to add her name a few more times to these coveted titles after taking the Under 11’s and Under 13’s titles in 2015. James Growcott is seeded to take the Under 13 Boys title and Charlie Prince the Under 11 Boys title.

Games start Friday at 5pm at the SquashCity Invercargill club and will run through until Sunday afternoon.
