Opportunity to connect and learn

Coaching Conference

Squash coaches will have another opportunity to network and develop their skills with the National Coaching Conference scheduled for March 2017.

A key part of ensuring ‘Growing at Grassroots’ and future ‘International Success’ is ongoing coach development and it is an area that Squash New Zealand continues to focus on.

“Over the past 6 years there have been more than 1,200 people attend at least one of the modules from our formal National Coach Development Framework and we are confident that this is lifting the standard of both coaches and players” said Coaching and Development Director Luke Morriss.

However, it is often the informal coach development opportunities that really helps coaches grow and develop their own practice.

“Research shows that learning through conferences is hugely beneficial. It also has an impact on coach development and our ability to provide quality experiences for our players” said Morriss.

Taking place at the Hamilton Squash & Tennis Club on March 18-19, the conference offers a unique opportunity for coaches to network, share and engage with others from across the country. The conference will feature a combination of interactive theoretical and practical workshops and promises to be a valuable opportunity for coaches to update their understanding of current trends in world squash and their impact on the game in New Zealand.

You can secure your spot at the conference from 1 December.
