Top seeds Whangarei continued their winning ways against 8th seeds Remuera claiming their win 4-1. Pool A of the Mitchell Cup proved to be a tight affair after every team came out winning 1 tie each sending it back to matches won which saw a tie again. After some tense number crunching it was eventually fourth seeds Belmont Park who came out on top followed by fifth seeds Remuera and the top seeds North Shore ended up coming in third. In Pool B the calculators could be put down as Thorndon took out Hamilton in the final tie of pool play making the fourth seeds Thorndon come first, second seeds Hamilton came second and 6th seeds Royal Oak coming in third.
