#LoveSquash Competition Clubs

Squash New Zealand is excited to announce a competition for our clubs to get involved to help promote and grow the game of squash!

Every club who competes in this competition will have the chance to win an official Commonwealth Games playing uniform signed by the players in the 2018 Commonwealth Games Squash Team. There will be 1 winning club from each of the 11 districts.

A club will gain an entry into this competition through completing one of the below activities:

• Participating in the National Open Day
  • Clubs must provide 3 photos to squashnewzealand@gmail.com 
  • Photos can include:
    • People on court
    • Doors Being Open
    • Promotional material around town

• Posting about your clubs participation in the National Squash Open Day prior to, during or after the National Squash Open Day Using the hashtag #LoveSquash and tagging Squash New Zealand on one of the following social media channels:
  • Facebook 
  • Twitter or
  • Instagram 
  • All entries for this must be received prior to Friday 13th April

• Sharing a Squash New Zealand #LoveSquash post on your Social Media Channel e.g. Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tagging in Squash New Zealand @squashnz

• Posting on your Social Media Channels a message of support for our athletes, activities your club holds prior to or during the Commonwealth Games that promotes #LoveSquash and the Commonwealth Games 2018 or anything else you think is relevant! All posts must include the following
  • The hashtag #LoveSquash
  • Squash New Zealand tagged in your post
  • Post photo/video in relations to the Commonwealth Games 2018 e.g. message of support, video of your club support the Commonwealth Games 2018 

• Other activities to promote #LoveSquash, Commonwealth Games 2018 and Increased Membership and Participation (examples are provided below)
  • Activities may include
    • Have a Go Days
    • Specific Club Programmes
    • Lunch screenings of the Games
    • More activities and promotional ideas at the bottom of this
  • Clubs must provide 3 photos of activities to squashnewzealand@gmail.com
  • Clubs must post about your clubs activity using the hashtag #LoveSquash and tagging Squash New Zealand on one of the following social media channels:
    • Facebook 
    • Twitter or
    • Instagram 
  • All entries for this must be received prior to midday Wednesday 25th April

Conditions of Draw

• All entries must be received prior to midday Wednesday 25th April to be considered
• One winning club from each district will be chosen at random from all entries Squash New Zealand has received
• Winners will be announced via all Squash New Zealand Social media channels and our website at 5pm on the Friday 27th April
• Multiple entries will be accepted
• By entering this competition you agree to Squash New Zealand using your posts as deemed fit

Commonwealth Game Club Promotion Ideas:

Referral Rewards:

• Current members gain rewards for referring a friend to join. Rewards could include;
• Discounted/free court time
• Discounted/free coaching
• Rebate on membership (1 month free etc)
• Pro shop credits
• Meal vouchers

Participation events:

• One-off events that enable potential new members the chance to try squash out.

Commonwealth Game events:

• Create social events around the Squash matches that encourage your members to bring along friends along to the club during the Commonwealth Games. Examples of events could include;
• Food and drink specials during televised matches
• Social competitions pre/post matches

Targeted groups:

• Pick a specific group to target on put on a free have a go event using the Squash NZ programme that best fits the group. Pick a group in close proximity to your club so that it’s easy for them to come back again. Examples could include corporates, schools or health focused businesses (hospitals, etc).
