NZ Doubles Champs draws
20 Mar 2018The draws for this weekend's NZ Doubles Championships at the National Squash Centre have just been released, and there will be plenty of competition across the six divisions. All matches will be played across the four full-sized doubles courts at the Unitec-based complex.
Leading the charge is Commonwealth Games team member Lance Beddoes, who will form a formidable pairing with Scott Galloway as top seeds in the Men's Open. He will also make an apperance in the Mixed Open teaming up with Abbie Palmer, while Galloway will take the court with countries' top female junior Kaitlyn Watts. Former NZ Commonwealth Games medallist Shelley Kitchen also makes an appearance in the Mixed Open with partner Neil Rossin, who are seeded third. The Women's Open sees Watts and Jo Shanks seeded first, followed closely by the pairing of Ellie Epke and Abbie Palmer. Other divisions to be competed in will be the Women's 35+, Men's 50+, and Social Mixed.
Matches begin 6pm Friday night running through until around 9.30pm. Saturday matches start at 11am concluding with the Mixed Open Final at 4.20pm, which will be followed by the tournament prizegiving.
