Two Big NZ Comebacks on Day 3

Temwa Chileshe fought back valiantly after being 2-0 down against Tristen Worth (South Africa). Temwa finished off his comeback with a 11-1 victory in the fifth set.

Anthony Lepper was 2-1 down against the highly regarded English player Joshua Owen. Anthony held his nerve taking the fourth set 11-9 and in a nail baiting fifth set he took the game and the match in a tie-break 12-10.

The pressure stays on the players to perform as results count throughout the individuals event. Final placings will determine the seeding for the teams events.

The other winning New Zealander Kaitlyn Watts beat Ananya Dabke (India) in four sets. Leo Fatialofa had a easy straight set victory against Abdulmajeed Boureggah (Saudi Arabia).

In the women’s competition Courtney Trail and Georgia Robcke both lost in four highly contested sets. In the men’s Elijah Thomas battled hard against the Scottish number 1 Alastair Prott losing in three sets.
