Kiwis In Aussie Action

Mixed results for the three Kiwis at the $11,000 Tarra Kia Bega Open, PSA Challenger Tour in Bega, New South Wales overnight.

Sion Wiggin went down 6-11, 6-11, 4-11 to top seed and world No.64 Rex Hedrick in the second round but was involved in many long rallies during the match.

Wiggin, 22 will play his next tournament at Shepparton in a couple of weeks.

The other Kiwis, both won their matches to move into the quarter-finals. Luke Jones beat his Australian opponent in straight games and now plays Hedrick while Scott Galloway won his second round match in four games.

There’s more New Zealanders in action in Australia at the Squash Melbourne Open starting today.

Zac Millar, Jason van der Walt and Evan Williams are all in the men’s draw while Kaitlyn Watts and Casey Owens feature in the women’s draw.
