Zac Millar in Consolation Plate Final

New Zealand number two Zac Millar has reached the Consolation Plate Final in Doha.

Zac Millar has won his overnight matches against Kuwaiti Yousif Ali 11-7, 11-1, 11-8, and Japanese Ryunosuke Tsukue 11-5, 11-3, 11-2 to reach the consolation plate final at the World Junior Men's Championships in Qatar.  He will play Australian number two Thomas Calvert in the final.

Worse news for Ben Grindrod, the other Kiwi in action overnight.  He has lost a heartbreaker in five sets to Frenchman Baptiste Masotti in the plate quarterfinals, going down 4-11, 11-3, 11-8, 5-11, 12-10.

Zac will play overnight for the Consolation Plate title, before the teams event begins the following day.  The draw has been released for the teams event, with New Zealand seeded 11th out of 23 teams.  The boys have drawn second seeds Pakistan, as well as Iraq and South Africa in their pool.
