Wayne Werder is the new Chairman of the Squash New Zealand board following Saturday's Annual General Meeting.
The Squash New Zealand Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 1 December in Auckland. Present were District Presidents, life members, Squash New Zealand staff and a number of interested members of the squash community.
The AGM progressed without incident, with the 2011-12 accounts, as well as reports from outgoing Chairman Neil McAra and CEO Jim O'Grady, received and accepted. The 2012 Annual Report, as well as the planned budget for the 2012-13, are attached at the bottom of this article.
There were three vacancies on the executive board, with Leah Goodhew (Northland), Tony Alexander (Wellington) and Linda Kenny (Midlands) voted into these positions. At the inaugural meeting of the new board Wayne Werder (pictured at right) was elected Chairman for the year ahead.
Squash New Zealand would like to recognise and pay tribute to outgoing board members Neil McAra (Southland) and Warren Patterson (Central). Both served lengthy spells on the board, making valuable contributions to the governance and health of the sport.
