Squash NZ plan to develop a Squash in Schools programme in 2012 and are hoping that it will be available for the 2013 school year. Whilst there is currently no national programme available, Squash has 11 District associations throughout NZ and these all have local programmes and delivery mechanisms.
Squash is a fun sport for young children to get involved in and the indoor nature of the game means it's great all year round. There are two options available for school squash programmes.

With over 200 squash clubs throughout NZ, most towns and all cities have a squash club nearby and most clubs have a junior programme and a coach available. Programme can be held during school hours, at lunchtime, or after school.
Most of the 11 District associations have a microcourt that is available to take into schools. This allows children to try the sport out, without leaving the school grounds.
If your school is interested in running a squash programe and you would like to find out more, please contact your local District association. Their contact details can be found here.
Some District associations and clubs run KiwiSport programmes. If you are interested in using Squash as a KiwiSport programme, please contact Squash NZ or your local District Association.
Squash NZ are currently developing funSQUASH a national Squash in Schools programme that will be nationally developed but locally delivered. We are currently in the initial development phase and will pilot the programme in 2013.
