Newsletter – World Masters Games Squash 2017
Dear Squash Participants
We are looking forward to meeting you all at the World Masters Games 2017 with the squash event being held at the North Shore Squash Club, Shea Terrace, Takapuna, North Shore.
Please find below some important information for you to consider during your stay in Auckland and whilst you are competing in the squash event as well as the Tournament Programme.
Draws
The draws have seen several changes to ensure that players receive 3 matches each. Please make sure you continue to keep checking the North Shore website for any changes to the draws and your first round playing time. Draws can be found on the website here. Any queries regarding the draws please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
Teams
For those participants in the teams event please ensure your team adheres to the following:
- 3 players must compete in each tie of which one player must be female
- All players will play in seeding order
- Team submissions for each round must be done 30mins after completing your round of play
Please check teams draws closely for any changes as there are a number coming through at this stage. There are also a number of teams seeking additional players, if you are interested in competing in the teams event please reply directly to this email.
Facilities Available During Event
Players will find exercycles located between courts 5 and 6 for their warm up and are welcome to use these in preparation for their matches.
There will be a physio/masseuse available on site during the event. Information on how to sign up for massages during the event will be available on site.
There will be a proshop open during the event to provide you with all your squash needs as well as to restring any racquets as and when required.
The North Shore Squash Club will have their bar and kitchen open each day during competition. We have attached their menus so you can see what is on offer during the event. There are also 2 drinking fountains within the club.
Getting To and From The Venue
It is important to note that there is limited parking available at the North Shore Squash Club. We highly recommend where possible that you travel in via Public Transport. The public transport will drop all players off at Smales Farm which is a short walk from the North Shore Squash Club, players can also catch a free shuttle which will be going to the venue from Smales Farm.
For players who will be driving to the event and are unable to park at the North Shore Squash Club you will be able to utilise parking available for squash participants at the Takapuna Normal Intermediate School (TNIS). TNIS is located at 26 Northcote Road, Takapuna, Auckland. TNIS is within walking distance of the North Shore Squash Club however a free shuttle which will be going to the venue from TNIS.
