Knight Takes Up Role with Colombian Squash Federation

Martin Knight has been appointed as the new National Coach of Colombia and will begin this position on the 1st February based in Bogota.

Knight began squash at the age of 13 and over his 20 years of playing squash his career includes some impressive achievements. These achievements include competing in 3 Commonwealth Games, 5 World Men’s Team Events, and 1 World Junior Men’s Team Championships. Knight also holds 3 Senior Nationals titles, 11 Professional Titles, a Bronze medal from the World Doubles 2006 and a Silver Medal in the Mixed Doubles from the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Knight reached a career high of WR 38 and is officially retiring from Professional Squash at the end of the month to pursue his new coaching role.

Knight says:

"Professional Squash has been my life for the best part of 12 years, I have achieved many of the goals that I set out for myself and many more I never knew were within my reach. I have made good friends, travelled to interesting and diverse places and had experiences that will continue with me forever.

I love the game and I am very excited about the opportunity that is now in front of me. Colombia is a growing Squash nation in South America, they are passionate and enthusiastic people and I am looking forward to working with the players and association going forward."
