2017 World Junior Squash Championships Finalist in Event Awards

The 2017 World Junior Championships held in Tauranga last year was announced as a finalist in two categories of the New Zealand Events Association Event Awards.

The tournament is shortlisted in the Best Sports Event category and is up against the Anchor AIMS Games, Crankworx Rotorua and Heineken Urban Polo. It is also a finalist in the Best International Event category, coming up against Crankworx Rotorua again, as well as the HSBC NZ Sevens.

The Awards’ 2018 Judging Panel is independent of the NZEA and possesses a wealth of experience across the arts, sports, sponsorship and business sectors of New Zealand collectively. The judges made comment in their deliberations this year about the importance of uniqueness, innovation and legacy in events, and how many of the finalists clearly demonstrated these traits. Sound management, strategic planning, and clear objectives were important factors for judges also.

All category winners will be announced at the NZEA Event Awards function to be held in Auckland on 26 March 2019 at Shed 10. Tickets will be on sale later this month through Eventfinda.

Congratulations to BOP Major Squash Events Incorporated (BOPMSE) for your stellar work on the event. And best of luck from Squash NZ for the awards on the 26th March.
