Masters Team Confirmed For Australian Test Series

The New Zealand Masters team has been confirmed for the Test series with Australia in Timaru in October, followed by the NZ Masters tournament starting all at the Timaru Squash Club.

The team is made up of a core of previous representatives and a few first timers too, who continue to play at the highest level in their respective age groups.

Karen Roberts from Mount Maunganui Squash Club and Debbie Dunbar (Hutt City Squash) are both newbies and in the men’s team, former New Zealand Senior Team Representative, Josh Greenfield from Taupo, (originally Palmerston North) has just moved into Masters age and Brett Meyer from Warkworth Tennis and Squash Club, gets his chance in the 55+ category.

Of note, is the inclusion of Kay Newman, (Lugton Park Squash Club) who has two World Master titles to her name and has come back to playing in the last couple of years.

The first test Monday 14 October, second Test, Tuesday 15 and third Thursday 17 before the NZ National Masters start on the Friday 18 October.

Women’s team:

35+ Karen Roberts (Mount Maunganui Squash Club), 40+ Debbie Dunbar (Hutt City Squash), 45+ Nadine Cull (Taumarunui Squash Club), 50+ Lisa Cowlard (North Shore Squash Club) 55+ Kay Newman (Lugton Park Squash Club), 60+ Karen Walton (Christchurch Squash Club), 65+ Freda Walker (Christchurch Football Squash Club).

Men’s team:

35+ Josh Greenfield (Taupo Squash Club), 40+ Kashif Shuja (Taupo Squash Club), 45+ Scott Gardiner (Burnside Squash Club), 50+ Gary Duberly (North Shore Squash Club), 55+ Brett Meyer (Warkworth Tennis and Squash Club), 60+ Mark Waldin (North Shore Squash Club), 65+ Wayne Seebeck (Christchurch Football Squash Club).
