King marches on to semis

New Zealand number one Joelle King has made short work of Madeline Perry to reach the semis in Glasgow, winning 11-6 11-4 11-6 to reach the semis in Glasgow.

Joelle King was the first player through to the semi-finals after beating Madeline Perry in straight games in the opening match. After tight openings to each game the third-seeded Kiwi pulled clear – from 4-5 in the first, 3-all in the second and 5-all in the third – to close out the match.2012 JK at British Open (small)

The Kiwi will come up against world number one and defending Commonwealth champion Nicol David in the semi-finals.  David fought past England's Jenny Duncalf 11-9 11-7 5-11 11-4 in 54 minutes to set up a semi-final with King.

The King-David semi-final will be played on the glass court at midnight on Sunday night (NZT).  Check out your Sky guide for viewing times.

In the men's quarter-finals Campbell Grayson came within a whisker of causing the upset of the night when he won the first two games against Indian fourth seed Saurav Ghosal.  The twelfth seeded Kiwi took the first two games 11-8 11-7, before Ghosal stormed back to win the match 8-11 7-11 11-6 11-8 11-6.
