Using fun games rather than formal routines, Kiwi Squash is the national junior squash programme for New Zealand primary and intermediate school-aged children.

Kiwi Squash offers a fun holistic experience for young people wanting to get involved in squash and consists of two stages designed specifically for the following ages:

  • Small Nix: for 5-8 year olds (school years 1-4) designed to develop fundamental movement skills, learn fun squash activities and improve their speed and agility.
  • Big Nix: for 9-12 year olds (school years 5-8) designed to progress skills to include general movement, squash coordination, technique and strategy through a range of activities and games.

Delivered collaboratively by trained teachers (Module 5) or qualified coaches and club volunteers (Modules 2 and / or Modules 3), Kiwi Squash gives participants all the support they need to execute a range of movements and play squash correctly.

Kiwi Squash is perfect for creating strong and healthy communities with links between schools and local clubs, and uses world-leading Kiwi Squash Coaching Resources and age-appropriate equipment.
