Southland wins South Island teams

Southland has won the annual South Island Junior Age Group Teams Event held in Otago over the weekend.

The event, held annually, involves junior players in the under 11, 13, 15 and 17 age groups from each of the four South Island Districts.  Its timing provides ideal build-up for the Junior National Age Group Championships (held from 2-5 October).

Southland defended its title this year, winning from hosts Otago.  Canterbury placed third, with Midlands coming home in fourth place.
