Bay of Plenty Boys and Auckland Girls are set to take top honours in the Inter-District Teams event at the Junior Nationals early next week.

The Bay of Plenty Boys team sees 4 A2's in their team in the form of Jamie Oakley, Alex Revington, Tyler Ranger and Sean Dykes with Elliot Jenkins rounding out the team. They will face 4th seeds Christchurch in their team who have 2 A2's (Jayden Millar and Quinn Udy) and 3 B1's (Charlie Barker, Ben Roughan and Callum Seymour). Rounding out Pool A is 5th seeds Central and 8th seeds Eastern. Central is led by Luke Jones who will be competing in his final Junior teams event with Corbin Faint, Cameron Foster, Allan Bailey and Mitchell Wilson also in the team. Eastern will be looking to keep the teams in their pool honest with Ben Remihana, Mitch goodchild, Willz Donnelly, Rhys Dooney and Taine Williams ready to take on their opponents. 

In Pool B of the Boys event Auckland take the 2nd seed spot whilst Waikato take 3rd seed. Auckland sees Rafa Yam, Matthew Lucente, Gabe Yam, Michael Shelton Agar and David Matthews trying to make it to the final. They will face a tough battle against Waikato to get there with Waikato sporting Montell Whatarangi, Max Trimble, Lwamba Chielshe, Temwa Chileshe and Fergus Mckinnon. Wellington and Southland take seeds 6 and 7 respectively. Scott Galloway headlines the Wellington team with Tohe Wanoa, John Allan, Cameron Phillips and Harrison bolt ready to make an upset to the top teams. The local Southland team will be looking to make the most of home district advantage and Mitchell Kempton, Caleb Madden, Regan McNaught, Terry Thurlow and Hayden O'Connor will be looking to make this Southlands first win. 

The Auckland Girls team is well led with Ellie Epke and Abbie Palmer set to show what they have learnt on the world stage back at home. Anna Hughes, Lauren Crowhurst and Tyler Duberly will be supporting Auckland on their way to take the title for the 27th time! They will have to beat 4th seeds Bay of Plenty fielding Camden Te Kani Mcqueen, Lauren Clarke, Abbie Wotten, Lucy Carter and Olivia McOnie. 5th seeds Waikato and 8th seeds Southland are also in their draw. The Waikato team comprises of Anika Jackson, Casey Owen, Holly Keen-O'Leary, Paige Browne and Katie Laird, whilst Southland is made up of Katie Fairweather, Jasmine Demchy, Alex Thurlow, Samantha Taplin and Hayley Flett. 

In Pool B of the Girls event Canterbury take 2nd spot whilst Northland take out the 3rd spot. Canterbury sees a solid team of 5 B1's with Nikki Kennedy, Ruby Turnbull, Ruby Beresford, Amelia Wadsworth and Emma Cormack. Northland is close to matching their strength with 4 B1's (Zoe Dykzeul, Mackenzie Johnson, Sian Duggan and Annmarie Holst) and 1 B2 (Iyra Stewart). The 6th seeds Central (Kaitlyn Watts, Courtney Trail, Annaleise Faint, Tori Clarisge and Tia Pauro) and 7th seeds Eastern (Rhiarne Taiapa, Winona Jo-Joyce, Parearua Kutia, Rosemary Mair and Ariata Kutia) round out the event.
