Squash Waikato General Manager Vacancy

Serving the Waikato for over 50 years, Squash Waikato has a strong presence in the region with a network of 25 affiliated clubs.  The appointment of this Manager’s role is crucial to the ongoing success of our sporting body. 

The core focus of this role is to maximise the use of our squash infrastructure, increase revenue streams and maintain relationships with funders, increase the participation and performance of people playing squash within the Waikato, and meet the needs of our squash community through providing excellent support to our member clubs. 

The position requires the following attributes:

• Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and implementation
• Ability to develop and implement initiatives to take the sport ‘to the people’ and to motivate clubs to increase membership
• Relationship building with clubs, Squash NZ and other stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills
• Self-motivation and self-management
• Sponsorship and funding experience
• Experience and exposure to the sports & recreation sector
• Computer skills, including presentation preparation
• Financial skills, including budget development and management
• Manage and maintain relationships across the sports sector
