Quarter Finals of New Zealand Senior Nationals Completed

The quarter finalists of the 2017 New Zealand Senior Nationals have been found with Kashif Shuja upsetting seventh seed Zac Millar to make it through to the quarter finals of the Men’s Open.

In the Women’s Open the top 8 seeds have progressed with all players looking comfortable in their wins. In the Men’s Open the matches had everything you could expect to see. Paul Coll, Campbell Grayson, Evan Williams and Lance Beddoes the top 4 seeds claimed their wins in 3 along with sixth seed Luke Jones. Fifth seed Ben Grindrod took his win in four and eighth seed Chris Van Der Salm took his win in a mammoth five setter. The upset of the night though came from Kashif Shuja who took out the seventh seed Zac Millar in five. Shuja claimed the first game before Millar took it up a notch and took a game lead 2-1. Shuja showed great determination throughout the match and eventually he took his place in the quarter finals with a stunning five set win.
